2. Choose a Safe Location:
- Select an open outdoor area away from buildings, trees, and dry grass
- Ensure there are no overhead obstructions.
3. Keep Water Handy:
- Have a bucket of water, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby.
- Use water to douse spent fireworks before discarding them.
4. Adult Supervision:
- Assign a responsible adult to supervise the use of fireworks.
- Keep children and pets at a safe distance.
5. Distance and Direction:
- Stand a safe distance away from fireworks.
- Never aim fireworks at people, buildings, or animals.
6. Alcohol and Fireworks Don't Mix:
- Avoid alcohol or any substances that may impair judgment when using fireworks.
- Designate a sober adult to oversee the festivities.
7. One at a Time:
- Light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
- Never try to relight or handle "duds."
8. Sparklers Safety:
- Supervise children using sparklers.
- Ensure they are used in an open area and disposed of in a bucket of water.
