Celebrating Labor Day

Celebrating Labor Day
Labor Day commemorates the contributions of workers to the development of the United States. The first Labor Day parade took place in New York City in 1882, organized by the Central Labor Union. In 1894, Congress officially recognized the holiday as a national observance.

Although the historical connection between Labor Day and fireworks may not be significant, it has become a tradition closely associated with the holiday, marking the end of the summer season.

Labor Day provides an opportunity to contemplate workers' rights and to honor the accomplishments of those who have advocated for improved working conditions. As you enjoy the fireworks this Labor Day, recall the hard work that has shaped our nation and the delight of uniting to celebrate the results of that labor.
